Treasurer's Report 2010  (for year 2009)

Good morning!  As Treasurer, I’m afraid I’m going to be quoting numbers to you with regard to the Annual Accounts for 2009, copies of which are available on the piano at the back of church.

Please note that as a lot of our wedding donations are paid in sterling, there are always discrepancies due to exchange rates.

Our income from the church collection, including pledged giving and covenants both here and direct to our UK account has reduced considerably from €44,500 in 2008 to : €30,000

However -

income from weddings, baptisms, funerals and the Garden of Remembrance brought in about

€33,500
from fund-raising events such as after service refreshments, the sale of Christmas and birthday cards, the summer raffle, the Christmas Bazaar and raffle and the Georgie Insull Singers’ concerts about €14,000
from Centre Stage for the rental of the Coleman Hall about €10,500
and income from investments on both our Spanish deposit account and our English deposit account amounted to about €6,500
We also received in respect of Gift Aid rebates, about €14,000
In total our income, compared to €134,000 in 2008, was : €108,500

As far as expenditure is concerned, this was lower than the previous year by some €19,000, at :

(this includes charitable donations of over €14,000)

€120,000

The balance sheet shows that we had a deficit for the year ended 31st December 2009 of (almost exactly the sum of money spent on renovating the Coleman Hall) €11,440

but I am pleased to inform you that our net assets are €102,592
